    Battery drain

I have a 1970 911T with two batteries. For the last couple of days the Porsche battery tender (980-611-981-00) has been on all the time. It usually goes on and off. To my knowledge there is nothing drawing voltage. I even disconnected the clock. For the last couple of hours I've disconnected the tender and attached a voltmeter, there is a steady drop in voltage, not a lot but measurable. The two batteries are less than two years old. Any ideas out there. Thank you.

Make sure the light above the glovebox is off.

If Ed's solution doesnt work.Connect a voltmeter between the ground and battery ground, a test light will work too. Pull fuses until you see no draw. What is on that circuit?

Checked all the lights, I guess its time to go through fuse by fuse, this has me stumped. I also my have a problem with the battery tender. Thank you for the glove box light suggestion.

I've had trouble with my trunk light sticking on when closed, might want to check that.

If you have an amp meter, you can check the current draw. It should be less than 50 milliamperes.

I just went through this on a Carrera and ended up removing all the aftermarket stereo equipment and alarm system to get the draw down to 45 milliamperes.

Thank you Tom, I might have found the problem, the interior lights. When they are in the rocked back position they are consuming miliamps even though the lights are off, rocking them to the forward position no consumption. I don't understand or remember what the different positions are.
