    Question Too much oil

Hello last year I put too much oil in one of my cars and had a leak under the car. Does the 911 have a oil relief valve? The car ran fine prior to the Exxon Valdez spill.
I was just going to drain the oil and change the filter at the start of the season and hope all was well. I just wondered if the oil return seals might have been damaged due to too much oil.
    Thanks for any help.

I'll take a stab until the experts chime in.
When I have seen this in the past (it happened frequently with helpful service station attendants in the 70s) it was over flowing from the tank vent then draining to the air cleaner then down and out over the oil cooler area. Usually, when you drain and refill and clean the residue from the air cleaner and engine all is forgiven.

sort of a right of passsage. What harvey said. No need to drain and refill. It will puke out any extra oil until it's right.

Great, thanks for the info. I had visions of huge $$$ for a simple mistake.
As always the wealth of information here is invaluable.
The weather is just getting nice here in Toronto so I'm itching to go for a first season ride.
    Happy Motoring!!

It will probably make clouds of smoke if the oil gets into the air filter housing.
