    Early dash on a '69?

    Hi all-

The dash needs to be restored to fix some cracks in the speaker grill. Doing a bit of research, the dash I removed from the '69E appears to be an early pre-68 dash. My dash has a single piece with no removable speaker grill. Name: Dash_Bottom.jpg

My understanding is that '68 dashes were one year only two piece affairs and LWB had one-piece dash with removable speaker grill. I'm more curious than anything else as I'm going to recover this dash.

    Thanks a lot in advance.
    Cheers,

    Ron

    Ron,
What you have there is in fact a LWB replacement dash. The first generation of the OEM replacement dashes eliminated the separate speaker grill.

That's a replacement dash. It's not original to the car. My understanding is that Porsche sold these for awhile many years ago.
