    Differences between '66, '67 and '68

    Hi all
I have a '66 that I need parts for, in particular front fenders and doors. Can someone advise the differences between '66 and '67 front fenders and '66 and '68 doors please? I am also looking for a front bumper for a '66.
    Cheers

    I'll have a go Andy...

I own a 68. I know the front guards are a one year only for 68 in that they are very similar to earlier versions, but have the inner arch lips trimmed/scalloped to accept the wider tyres the first 5.5" rims carried. There also have some headlight bucket wiring differences. 68 guards take the 2 screw grills too, not sure when the transition from 4 screw to 2 screw occurred. I suspect you're going to struggle to find correct guards and will probably have to 'adapt' what you find.

Doors in 68 have the first of the aluminum frames (coupe), previous years were chromed steel. I understand the very early SWB doors were stamped with the last 4 chassis number digits? There may also be some differences in door stay design... The overall shape is compatible across the years - you can interchange doors across the SWB and LWB years with minor mods. Intrusion bars did not come about until the LWB years.

There is a fair bit of suspension difference too - the early SWB cars don't share a lot in common with the 68 and later cars.

    Hope that helps some...
