There only one guy who can manage that´...Manfred Rugen in Hepstedt Germany near Bremen, most racers trust on his magic hand, he builds the most powerful durable engines...but bring a little time he is more than busy!

    Tks
Obviously, mag case is not the best idea for racing, but further rules with FIA will force every guy to get the right engine, body, gearbox, calipers, suspension etc.
I talked last month with a Race organisation member who confirmed that a lot of new race car will stay in the box...next years( all 2,7lrs with 3.0l engine, 2,8l with 3 or 3.5l , etc)
It s probably time to stop all people who want to win even if their mechanic is 50% more powerful than original.
I m sure that a correct engine, even mag, can be used duribg a long time, of cousre not for race longer than 4hrs.

    tks to help
I will contact Rugen nexts weeks

Another adress: My mechanic/shop works and owns a real factory S/T (Chiquita 3) including its original engine.
The car will receive a ground-up restoration, it raced 1971 at Le Mans, Targa Florio and 1970 Nurburgring.
Other cars he recently rebuild was a real Kremer 2.5l LM car, sold to/owned by a german client.
Shop is located in Switzerland, near Basel. http://www.flatsixcars.ch/FSCe/Welcome.html

Bob Watson has built countless engines. He's semi retired but works a bit for Cranford Classics. They are based in the UK.

A 2.5 liter mag engine is very durable. You want someone who will shuffle pin it, and line bore it. This along with reinforced time cert type thread reinforcement for the head bolt. It will live a long tome with these mods. Since it is not visible I'd upgrade the oil pump and do the oil bypass mod too.

4/10? of the job is the machinist that is used. That all the tolerances are set to spec, additions as shuffle pins are added, etc.
4/10? skills / experience of the builder. It would be a plus if the builder has built Porsche engines for endurance races like spa 6 hrs
2/10? how far you want to go (= money you are willing to spend for the extra's)
