    Help identifying this VIN

    There is a car for sale and the seller says it is a 911 however i think it may be a 912 judging from the vin.

    That VIN corresponds to a '66 Karmann-built 912

    I'm guessing it was slate grey.

    457616 is also 6601. 457617 is 6603

    I wish that I had more than the paint codes for these cars; engine & trans #'s along with where they are would be helpful. These Karmann cars also have a Karmann body # stamped into the tunnel under the cover at the rear; usually hidden by the carpet.

    You can go to the 912 registry and add that car. It may assist the community and prevent fraud down the line.
