    Rear Fenders Question

    Hi,

Both my rear fenders require replacing on my 1967S, I have replacement panels.

My question is, is there a good place to cut the original panel to make it easier to fit the new ones?

Or is there a place I should avoid removing?

    Thanks

    Ray

for the targa its easy to answer....use the hole panel(-lock post ) .
for the coupe it is a tricky one...i usually prefered(until i bought a TIG-welder) to use the hole q-panel(- the lock post)...simply because i hate to cut the panel in the way shown in the pic...i dont like this long line MIG- welding jobs.

the down side of useing the hole panel is you destroy the original rain drain... and thats a hell of a job to get a perfect result when you replace the hole panel.

where exactly to cut depends a bit on how rusty the rear window corners are if they are fine i do it kind of where the white line runs.

if your lock post panel is fine--keep it

where did you get your swb panels from??

    Thanks Dezzmo,
    Thanks Moito,

That gives me some idea about where, Thank you.

The lock post is in a poor condition, I could try to keep some of the better parts if you think that would help with alignment?

I would prefer to fit the whole wing, inc post together.

I got both wings through a contact who had them on the wall in his shop for nearly 20 years (great find)
