    73 S - 993 door strikers back from plating/photograph

One of the members had asked me to post a photo of my 'machined' and re-plated 993 strikers. I had DeTray Plating Works, Independence MO do the work and am very pleased with their quality and timeline (just under a week!). I purchased the strikers new from PORSCHE, ran them through my media cabinet, used a cut-off wheel to remove the bulk of the excess steel plate that is on one side of these strikers, then finished it up with a bench grinder and flat (fine) file. In the end it looks like this material was 'machined' off but careful cutting, grinding and then flat-filing did the job perfectly.

I think you could start a little boutique business with these.

    Great idea.
You could make as much as $5 an hour by doing these!

Frank...you're too funny. As some of you know, the minimum charge at most plating companies runs about $125.00, so unless you have other items to include in the order it can get expensive to do a few bits here and there. Add that to the price of two new strikers (plus my compensation of $5.00 per hour) and it might be an OBAMACARE premium equivalent.
