Question Help! Where does this go???

I was cleaning my engine bay when I noticed this loose spade connector (circled). Can someone tell me where it goes. I didn't see any obvious places. Thanks for the help, as always.

What doesn't work now?? There is a single wire that goes to the temp sender, but it is green /blk. Looks like someone has done some 'creative' wiring in there, that is also the wrong spade end, it is one of the domestic variety, the original spade end for the temp sender was a 90 degree end. So does the temp gauge work?

Ed, you were correct, it was the temperature sender...good call (I'm not surprised, given your wealth of knowledge!
