What kind of plastic is the fuel bleeder tank attached to headlight bucket?

Attached to headlight bucket in wheel well. Mine is cracked and they are NLA. Tried the used route too, but no love. I'm stuck with trying a repair this one and need to know if it's polyethylene or something other to get the right repair. Thanks

I would take it off the car - clean it up well and use a two part epoxy - that should work - likely an injection mold made part

I agree, the only thing that "might" stick is a jb weld type epoxy. Although I think it was either a blow mold or centrifugal mold type polyethylene.

Isn't it polypropylene or similar? Plastic weld it.

There is a company in the process or re-producing these. I'm not sure how long until they are to market...FYI

Backyard procedure: you can weld it with a hot butterknife and some scrap polyethelene from another part or a rental kayak. get all fuel vapor residue out first. S

Had mine out about a year ago. Had one small pin hole that I simply filled with clear silicone. The outside cleanup was done with multiple products, always being careful that the cleaning product wouldn't melt the container. I finally lightly sanded some dark areas that really improved (removed) most stains. I finally lightly sprayed it with a satin clear.

While I was there I wire wheeled the retaining strap and painted. Installed with new fasteners.

I'm not sure of the company, I just know someone in the industry who had told me it's in the works, due to the fact that every original one is cracked. I'll try to find out who it is and when it's coming to market..
