Machining head in 2.0 to 2.2 conversion

Bruce says the head needs to be machined to accept the different head gasket used on the 2.2. I am using the stock 2.0 S heads. Is that correct and what sort of machining is needed?? I now the combustion chamber needs to altered for the bigger pistons.

The '70 on engines use a different cylinder-to-cylinder head gasket and sealing surface. Your '69 heads must be flycut to match the 2.2 cylinders. Do you have a copy of B. Anderson's Performance Handbook?

Yes, that's where I read about the gasket change. I just wondered if the gasket machining was required or preferred.
