and I hear that Jensen Button is due to take a BAR Honda F1 car to Bonneville this year. I wonder what that can do with the downforce aerodynamics removed?

yeah, that should be interesting. I think the team is predicting "at least 250MPH". I guess I'd be disappointed with anything less than that - afterall, the 35 year old 917's came close to that on the Mulsanne!
I read that too. Since I'm a few hours away, I figured I'd send BAR an email asking if a local fan could come out and watch. I've yet to get a reply from them. I even offered to bring a selection of the local beer.Originally Posted by nick-moss
Some of my coworker have been there for events and say you can get right up the cars at the starting area. They suggest it should be the same if BAR "comes to town".
I've got a few more avenues for finding out when they're scheduled to be there. If it all happens( and I make it there) I'll be sure to take lots of photos.
Great photo Curt, Do you have video?

It should be worth a vist, if only to hear an F1 car at over 18,000 rpm, the noise is unbeleivable

The noise is crazy, I went to the last "real" USGP( not to be confused with the Bridgestone tire test this year!). Sitting up high just across from the pit exit was incredible. I removed my ear plugs to get the full effect... that lasted about 1 lap. I'm sure bleacher canyon at Indy amplified the noise though.Originally Posted by nick-moss
