Porsche 911 Metering With Fuel Pump NOS?

Looking thru the Emory stuff on eBay, I found this item with the title above.

URL for the auction is http://tinyurl.com/7bphe

What is the "metering" part of this dealie? I have never seen the flat, round part attached to the pump before. What does it do? A regulator of some sort?

It says it is a "Porsche 911 Metering With Fuel Pump Complete 1965-1973 NOS part #90157251130" How can this be for all '65-73 911s when they have such different induction systems and fuel pressure needs? Anyone know what it is and what the real application would be?

    Thx,
    TT

I believe it is for the Webasto heater system.

Not the regular engine fuel system.

I see it pictured in the parts manuals.

    Cheers,

OK, that makes sense. I guess any of those models could have had the Webasto heater installed. I was thinking it was an engine fuel pump and forgot about the gas heater. I should go look at mine in the '67S smuggler box and see if I recognize it. I sent a question thru eBay before I posted here, but no answer yet.

    Tom,

I flipped through the 65 parts manual and you can find it at 2/4 - 2.
It's called a "dosage box with fuel pump" - indeed - for the Webasto heater.
