pictures from the first Early S run

I made the rounds today and stopped by Curtis's place and he showed me these pictures he took at the first Early S Registry run so I snagged them from him to make some enlargements and to scan them so hear they are, by the way I also stopped by Mike Hammond's to drop of money for the dinner at the G.A.F. and he told me they only have forty people signed up so far for the dinner and to get the hotel to do this they had to guaranty one hundred would attend so some of you guys need to get off your butts and get your money in ( waiting till the last minute makes everyone crazy after all how would you like to be on the hook for something like this ? )

Small correction... those pics are from our 3rd event and second tour to the Long Beach Grand Prix in '96...

Our first West Coast event WAS to the Long Beach GP but the year before in '95... very few pics were taken ... however we got coverage in a GREAT Japanese 911 magazine..

It was this publication that sparked my interest in buying a 911S (like I think it did for many others). Within 3 months, I bought my blue '72S.

I believe this cover story featuring more than a couple of hot rod early 911s was one of the first to inspire what later became R Gruppe. I met many of the cars and their owners about a year later in Monterey, including Chuck. Brings back some good memories.
