Silicone Valve Cover Gaskets - Cheaper!

If you're looking at buying a set of the trick new red silicone valve cover gaskets, here's the source -

The advantage is they are reusable and thicker, to seal leaks better, but don't pay $50 for them in a Weltmeister package. Even at the swap meet booths at GAF they were going for $30 a set and $10 for the sump cover gasket. Direct from the guys who make them below, the valve gaskets are only $20 for a set of 4, and the sump cover gasket is $6.

Sure looked the same to me. Packaging, material, everything. I believe everyone reselling these is getting them from this same source that is making them in Tennessee.

The ones Pelican sells come from Bob Breshears at Appbiz - maybe this is where he gets them from ? They certainly look the same...

I bought a set a while back and had no problems. Real Gaskets specializes in aviation engine seals where leaks I am guessing are highly unwelcome.

Silicone VC Gaskets for '67 911

I'm interested in a red silicone lower VC gasket for the earlier 6 hole pattern used on my '67.

I talked to Harold Carter at Real Gaskets Tennessee today and learned he does not presently make a 6 hole configuration. However he would give serious consideration to making it, if there is a market for it.

Anyone already know of a source? I'm very skeptical, but does anyone have any experience that says a later design silicone gasket will seal an early 6 hole VC?

Is anyone else interested in red silicone lower VC gaskets for the early 6 hole VC design??

    Best Regards,
    Bob

The 911’s initial participation in a competitive event, the 1965 Monte Carlo Rally, was fitted with a 100L tank (#300055). Seeking additional info on earliest 100L tank fitments to 911’s.

    Red Silicone Valve Cover Gaskets

    Hi Guys -

Has anyone installing the Real Gaskets noticed that the holes aren't quite big enough for the M8 studs? I got a set for my '67 (using the later gaskets as a pattern), and find the studs must be pushed thru the holes.

    Best Regards,
    Bob
