nice history of the motorcycle mark but I did not see a word about Steve McQueen's ownership. Might just be me but isn't that what they are selling here?

You have an opportunity here to bid on an authentic Steve McQueen Motorcycle Collection Restored 1914 Yale Motorcycle. This motorcycle was purchased by the present owner at the1984 Steve McQueen Collectibles Auction in Las Vegas, NV, which was held 2 years after hid untimely death. A photo of the Authenticity Certificate is shown below. Mr. McQueen personally oversaw the restoration of this motorcycle, as well as he did all his other ones.

The McQueen association only adds to a very special and unique marque. Truely a standout in the heyday of early motorcycling. Far more rare than any Harley or Indian of the early teens. At the current price it's a bargain. The last one I saw was a basket case of only engine, frame and tank and went for $14,000!

Plus, the seller added that it appears now to be original, not restored. I know NOTHING about motorcycles, but this one does seem to be a deal.
edit: oops, up to $30K and climbing ......
Not to burst his bubble and despite that claim, that bike is restored! They never looked that good new. Still a good buy at this price but some high dollar living room art. See my unrestored 17 Indian below:

That bike may be nice, and Steve might have had his sweaty ass on it a few times, but $30k will buy a very nice early 911. And $40k will buy a pretty nice early S!
I say let the museum curators collect the art, I am driving mine!
Wow, cool Indian! Do you ride it?
Yep, It gets regular work outs on the country roads where I live. Quite a cool machine with the hack. Had it about six years now and sold off the few resored bikes a while back but love the worry free feel of oozing oil and dust.
Bought it from an old timer who owned it 50 years. He bought it for $10 when he went to try and buy the front wheel off of it for a dirt track racer he owned. Seller wanted $25 for the whole bike but told him to leave the $10 and take the whole thing. He still has the reciept written in french (he's Canadian eh!) Old fart won't part with that stupid piece of paper though. Photos of him in 1949 with the bike and us two together with it at an Indian 100th aniversary. It's a KEEPER! Daron
Thats a great story Daron.
