    Chroming fuchs good or bad

I've heard that chroming fuchs are not good due to the fact that they become brittle. If so then why don't the chrome shops say so.

    Becase they want your money

Seriously though, I had a conversation with Harvey Weidman (of Weidmans wheels) about this and he told me that it does cause hydrogen embrittlement and if not done correctly or done on wheels that are rough, the plating will trap moisture in small pits causing corrosion underneath the plating.
Removing the plating also removes some of the aluminum.
He told me that a $1200 7R wheel after it has been plated and stripped is now worth $300 to him

    Bad idea

Chroming is one of the methods used to hide a bad rim. I rim the has been badly 'curbed" can be patched/welded and chromed and may be nice for the VW fans. A rim the has been welded cannot be anodized evenly. It can be highly polished, but the welded areas may also discolor with time.

Not to mention that chrome has not place on early Fuch, or really any Fuch in my mind. I cringe at the sight of chromed Fuchs on an early car.
