Thread: New Server Sucks

    New Server Sucks

Are we on a new server - Domain Host? I have found that while in the US, the response is much slower than before. I am now vacationing in Israel, and find that the server is sooooo slow that it times out before it will post my response. I don't find that the other sites are this slow, even considering my distance.

I don't know if our other members from overseas are experiencing this, but for me -- if I was overseas, a response time like this would make me an "inactive" member.

I really have better things to do than to wait 2 - 3 minutes for the server to respond and then find out that my post was deleted because it timed out.

Anyone else find this an issue?? If not, maybe it's just me.
Of course, there is only a 50/50 chance that this post will be "posted."

They are both SLOW ASS. Perhaps the BBS php application itself is non-performant?

Yep me too...and not just for posting. Loading and refreshing seems to take forever and loading pics...well I could wash my masses of hair in that time !

I wasn't going to complain, but as someone else (Larry ) complained first....

    Cheers,

Whew!!! I'm glad that it's not just me. I don't know if there is some way of gauging the performance of a site before we "rent space" on it, but maybe if the powers that be complain, they can move us to a newer server, or check the switch we are hooked to, or something.

(And Lisa, I appreciate your chiming in - I never mind being first in line to either complain or to compliment. Someone the other day asked me if I was shy . . . . . . not the last time I checked!!!)

The performance problems seem to be very intermittent to me. I can be browsing the forum and enjoying a fast response and then it just goes sluggish suddenly and I get "timeout" errors. From the text of the errors, it appears that the forum is definitely hosted on a different server now, it used to be on the Ezboard network, no?
