    Removing "S" Rocker Trim

Are there any helpful hints about how to remove the rubbert insert on the "S" rocker trim on a '71?

    Thanks

Theoretically it should slide out once the end caps have been removed but I've never managed to get that to work.

If you use something like an old (blunt) screwdriver to lever one end of the rubber out from under the lip you can then carefully pull it away from the rocker trim.

I would suggest using a plastic spackle knife. Anything metal can either scratch the aluminum trim, or gauge the rubber. You can also start in the middle and just work your way to the end in wither direction. When you have accomplished that, pray that the those screws holding the trim to the body are not all rusted to ****. Those can be even harder to get out.

    "S" Trim

Andy, Gruen - thanks for the tips about dislodging the rubber. That made the job much easier than trying to pull it out sideways.
