    Removing gold plating from emblem

Does anyone know an easy way to remove the gold plating from the engine lid emblem? My PORSCHE letters have already had the gold removed as you can see the gold on the bottom, but my 911 emblem is gold and I'd like them to match. Any advice?

I may have a matching set of 911 and PORSCHE emblems for your project...I can check if your interested. The gold is correct for the year and model.

I agree with michael. That said, oven cleaner will take the gold off.

It's just pot metal underneath, so what are you going to do to make it look nice? I suppose you could replate in chrome or spray paint it silver. Might be cheaper to start with a black one.
