    911 S Oil Cooler Repair

I think I have a puncture in my front cooler on my 70S...looks like a minor hit. Does anyone have any experience in repair or sources to plug a leak?

If its the factory radiator type(BEHR), you may be able to take it to a radiator shop, otherwise you will have to buy a new one from a dealer part #901 107 046 00. Do you have the stone guard that goes in front of your cooler that keeps things from hitting the actual cooler? You can try wrecking yards but just remember that only the S came with the front cooler as stock unless you have a 1973 S then it was an option. JIM

    Greens,

I live near you in Scotland, CT and also have a 70S needing an oil cooler repair. Agree a radiator shop should be able to repair.

    70S Cooler Repair

Thanks....I'll be looking for a shop that can do this. I have seen some aircraft shops that epoxy but this is a plate and fin type which probably means braze or solder. It is the original Behr. The guard was in place and I'm not even sure it is actually leaking (will do a pressure test) but there is old oil on the front and lower right of the unit which points me in that direction. Car was purchased inop so I don't know what condition it is in overall...inside is clean however from what I can tell. Hope to fix.

George: I don't need the cooler but my shield is pretty rusty...do you have one of those you might part with?
