Momo hub adapter on a '68 911 fit

I bought a Momo adapter (new in the box) from LTB Motorsports on eBay and tried to install it today, but it wouldn't slide down the steering shaft. It shows to be for all '65-'74 911 models. Is there something different about a '68 steering shaft?

    Thanks,

    Mike

no. did the signal cancel get caught on the steering shaft? signal cancel goes on the left at the 9 o'clock position.

I made sure the signal cancel was at the 9 o'clock position. The hub seems to fit on the splines and will go down about an inch and then it stops. I didn't want to try and force it further.

The hub doesn't mount flush to the column? There should be enough of the threaded steering post to thread the large nut plus washer. Does the signal cancel prevent it from being inserted further?

I just had some trouble with one as well and one a while back. It could be a bad casting. The last one I bought from Performance Products. Send it back.

Thanks for the responses. I think I will just contact LTB and see if they'll exchange it for another one.

I had the same prob and posted here. I was told to gently file the burs off the splines of the adapter.
    It worked.

The car looks great! Please tell us what kind of wheel you're attempting to install.

Thanks, Bob for the compliment on the car. I'm hoping to be driving it in 2-3 weeks.

I have a black Prototipo that I will hopefully be installing tomorrow evening after taking a file to the splines!
