    911 S engine

    Hello guys,
    need to confirm that this engine is an S

    71S should be 631xxxx. You sure that the "8" isin't a typo?

    Yes the motor has an S number.

    I believe the number is 6311079. It just looks like an 8 in the picture of the number.

    Besides the first number on these engine serial numbers refers to the number of cylinders. The motor is obviously a six cylinder not an eight.

    The second number 3 is what confirms that it is an S. An E would have a 2 and a T would have a 1.

    Here's the breakdown.

    6 = 6 cylinder
    3 = S engine type
    1 = model year 71'
    1079 = sequential number

    thank you very much! now what can it be paid for an S engine not running with all its parts?
    reason i ask is theres some one selling one on pelican BB .
    I need an S engine but not shure what to pay for one.
