New Member with a basic question

    Hi all,

Just took receipt of a real nice '73 T (MFI). The PO restored much of the interior not will all original materials (like carpet quality etc.) but still a good job and the color was changed from Sepia to light Ivory too. The paint is acceptable but I'm planning on having some of the detail work that was rushed re-addressed.

I'm pretty anal and have waited for an early car for many years. So here is my question as I start to go thru this car. Is it still possible to acquire replacement parts for everything or are there items that are no longer available period. Whether either as NOS or repro?

I've looked thru some of the catalogs of the suppliers and get the impression that certain things just can no longer be had but is this realluy true within the underground early 911 community.

    Thanks!

finishing up on my 71S and Porsche still makes most parts for your car although some parts may have been superceded with later cars. So between the Repros, some good and some not so good (same with the new OEM parts BTW) you would have 95% of all the parts you need. The remaining 5% would be through e-bay and the numerious NOS and used part guys. You just have to do your homework, and much of the info has been gone through at nausium on this board. Case and point, I bought a $1000 OEM dash from Porsche that did not fit. Was told I had to shave off the foam and custom fit it. After several days of playing with the dash and shaving all the foam off, it could not of possibly fitted. I ended up buying a good used dash on e-bay and it popped right in. Check out my site on what I did by clicking on the 1971 911S signature below. Almost done and it has been a very fulfilling experience. Good luck Allan
