    Need Help with Engine Number 6550169

    Engine number is 6550169 and is sitting in 1975 US Carrera.

    I was told this is the original motor to the car, but I can't find ANY 911 motor that begins with 655XXXX.

    I have looked through the Red Book several times and can't find a year/model combo with this number. I've seen the engine number, so it's not being incorrectly given to me.

    According to Red Book, this car should have a 645XXXX 911/43 motor.

    Help me identify this motor, please. TIA.

    I suspected it could have something to do with a California emissions car, as that is where this car is from.
