Vertex, in FL is cheap compare to Automotion, Pelican or Stoddard ?

    Thanks !

I always buy OEM when available. And most of the 911 seals are still available from Stoddard. The olny thing you have to deal with is superceded parts which should fit well, but appear different. I restored a 914 decades ago using aftermarket seals sold by Automobile Atlanta and they all shrank within a year, or didn't fit to begin with. Go OEM, you won't regret it, good luck Allan

I just finished doing all the seals on my car this past year. I purchased the majority through Automotion (Performance), though did use Stoddard and Pelican for some other pieces. Everything fit well and the majority was OEM. Be very careful of cheap prices as it often is reflected in the product. Just so you know, though, I have no knowledge of Vertex and the quality of their products.

    Vertex

Vertex is just down the street from me, incidentally. I used to buy all my parts there, since they were local. 6 months ago, I needed to replace my windshield seal and noticed they charged significantly less. Then I noticed that it wasn't made in Germany. No thanks...so, I then picked up an OEM German made one from Foreign Intrigue. They're very well stocked, priced and quick to ship, IMO.

Funnily enough, when I got to the glass shop they double-checked that I had purchased German rubber. No more windshield leaks now, even in the worst S. Fla storms...

    Smile Foreign Intrigue

OOPS, I meant Foreign Intrigue, they are in Berwick, Maine, much closer to you! I haven't found any other local parts dealers, I just order online and have had good luck with Pelican, Performance, EASY and Foreign Intrigue, at http://www.foreignintrigue.com/

I made the mistake of ordering tail light gaskets from Vertex. They were not even close to being the right size. One was 1/2" too small and the other about 1" too long. That was enough to say, "never again". After paint, I resealed the car with all new OEM rubber. Every piece fit like it grew there. Performance had good prices on OEM, but there are many other reputable suppliers as noted above.

There are some tricks for seating many of the pieces correctly against metal. There have been some posts on tricks and tips here which will be helpful.

    Good luck
