Nice photo, but it looks like we need an update on the Porsche/VW holdings relationship.......

What % of VW did they buy? I forget. I also didn't know Lotus was independent?

    Looks like 27.4%.

I guess I did not realize that Lotus was on their own either. I know they use the 1.8 Toyota motor in the elise/exige now and I have heard that one of their newer designs is to use a Rover based motor.

From what I recall Lotus has sourced their motors from other manufacturers in the past...More info that one really needs (damn google...)

GM has sold its stake in Fiat and they did too, Ford is selling Aston Martin (appearently back to private UK ownership of Mr.Richards/ex-BAR Honda F1 team) and is selling Jaguar soon too.
Daimler-Benz sold Mitsubishi stakes and is selling soon Chrysler too.
Rover/MG is gone to China (but not marque rights) and TVR is finally bancrupt.
Porsche now soon biggest board votes-"owner" behind german state Lower-Saxony to prevent VW is ever taken over by foreign owners.

Ya can't tell the players without a program, boys!!

Big question around these parts is... who's gonna buy Chrysler? There was a big show and tell last Wednesday in their design dome for honchos from 2 private equity firms (the future bosses). Sort of a job audition for the Chrysler brass as well.

My theory is all this talk of GM buying Chrysler is off base. It makes absolutely no sense. However, GM WILL work with these equity firms to get a deal done. Why? Their main interest is to keep Chrysler's technology and distribution network out of the hands of Korean and Chinese automakers!

And Aston Martin got sold off today. This thing really needs to be an interactive, real-time chart to keep up with the musical chairs!
