Complete and Original - A Very Nice '83 SC

Motoring Investments www.motoringinvestments.com is offering a very nice low mileage (45k), very original and EXTREMELY complete '83 911 SC. This car has all of the extras.

I have no affiliation, just seems like a very nice example if you have any interest in this particular model. Just drill down in their site, you'll find it pretty quickly.

    That is nice...

Hopefully it will go to someone that can appreciate it. The SC is a great 911 and I think that they will only be appreciated more in the future. I also have a "PCA Treffen" car, a 1979 911SC Targa, that was picked up at the factory during the annual tour. The previous owner had kept everything from the tour including menus, shipping documentation, letters from the dealer and factory, etc. They did not keep the empty bottle of bubbley, though!

Yes it's a nice car but he's pricing against new cars that are better buys, much better drivers and with the same or less mileage. The air conditioners work in the 993 and 996. This is nice used 993 and 996 money.

I understand the draw but the economics don't make sense unless you are a COLLECTOR. Even then lower mileage examples are to be had.

    Agreed

    Tom,

No doubt about it, lots of money for an SC. You don't see me taking my checkbook out! Now somewhere less then $25k and I might be tempted. Of course, I'm also out of garage space, too!

He's asking more than $25,000?! Good luck. You can pick up an excellent SC in So Cal for less than $14,000 from a private party any day of the week. And some are now as low as $11,000.

My 82 SC w/ 50,000 miles is nicer than this car.

All records from day 1. Car has desirable upgrades such as :SSI/Monty , 7/9's Fuchs, lowered etc. It's not for sale, but if it was I would feel lucky to get $25,000

Since I bought my 70E, the SC hardly gets driven at all, I'd sell it, but my wife would kill me...she likes the quiet, luxurious SC better

I know this dealer has had an inventory of very nice early cars the last few years priced accordingly. However this one is going nowhere at $39500

    Jeez - tough crowd.

Euro SCs in this sort of condition are definitely cracking $25k in Europe. Friend of mine just sold his SC Coupe - nice clean original LHD car in Rosewood - for £12,500, which is $25k. I agree $39k is enormous money but why not give it a try, you never know who is out there.

If there are rust-free excellent condition cars like this selling for $11k I would love to know about them, there's gold in them thar hills

Not trying to be tough, but in So Cal, an SC is about as rare as a sunny day or a hot blonde with implants. There are thousands of them here. There isn't a day I drive anywhere when I don't see at least one on the road.

But I'm talking private party sales, not the dozens of dealers up and down the west coast who convince newbies to overpay for that shiny SC on their showroom floor.

And while I can't guarantee an excellent, rust free SC for $11K, I can for $13,000. Start checking online. I'll bet you could buy one today. Heck, I turned down buying a high mileage, rust free '84 Carrera for $12,000 last Christmas after calling on three G50 Carreras sitting with sellers for $16,000. You can find a superb private party Carrera for $18,000, rust free, probably with all receipts, that will run circles around that white SC any day of the week. Bottom line -- SC prices aren't going anywhere because the car exists in the shadow of the Carrera, and the values of those cars continues to depreciate here in So Cal.

So, if finding an old SC for less than $25,000 (?!) is "gold", then welcome to the Gold Rush!
