    Door interchangibility

    Are coup and targa doors interchangible?

    Should be. It's just the window frame that's different.

    Watch out for the door beam. I think '72+ cars have the side impact beam, so if you have a later car, you may want to consider getting a door with the door beam.

    I think that the basic doors are the same, but if you're looking at used ones, then I am not sure about the interchangeability - the lead work and closure around the window openings looks different, to me, especially near the windshield post.

    The doors are identical save for the portion at the front where the vent window is. I believe it's the targas that have the wider frames, so if you're putting a coupe door on a targa, you may need to file the door out a bit. Or, it might be the other way around ... if you're putting a targa door on a coupe you may need to file out the front a bit.

    Other than that VERY minor issue they are identical fitment-wise. Short wheelbase is a whole other issue.
