    Starting problem

For the past two days my 81SC has been doing something odd. When I first try to start it in the morning I turn the key and can hear the starter engage but the engine seems to be stuck and does not crank at all. If I keep trying several times eventually, on about the fifth attempt, it will crank. For the rest of the day it started fine. It did this yesterday and today. Nobody heard of this before? Thanks.

Perhaps the starter, not the engine is stuck? It is known to happen, although most common when the engine is hot, not cold. Could be a bad starter solenoid, too. Borrow a starter; if it happens again, swap them.
