Bosch CDI unit part no's and compatibility

    Hi,

Can the Bosch 3-pin CDI units with part number 0227 200 001 ('74-'78?) and 1227 200 001 ('73 and earlier?) used on the same engine?

    Thanks,

    Cees

All the Bosch 3-pin units will interchange; '69-'77.

The Bosch 6-pin units are different but with some wiring changes can be made to work. If you use a pre-'78 tach, you might lose the rev limiter unless you keep the older rotor that has an integral one (6500-7100-7300).
