    Back seat bucket repair

I just did the back seat bucket repair. The rear window seal on this car has probably let water leak in and down into the sound mat in the backseat buckets, and the sound mat has probably been wet for years, this was the result. The car had two rust issues typical for a car from a warm climate, no rust from the outside, just the leak through the rearwindow seal into the buckets and two old batteries leaking into the front tank support. The tank support and pan will be finished next week. The rest of the brown stuff is old glue, not rust.

Bob; a very friendly US guy, cut out the two buckets for me from a wreck and sent them all the way to Norway. Even with the shipping price the total price was not very much more then having bad copys made. There are a lot of helpful enthusiasts in the US and elswhere and I am greatful for all the help I have gotten. This time it was Shaun Budka that helped me out.

What is the white stuff on the weld? Nice work. How did you treat the outside?

The white stuff is used on welding seams to prevent rust and also in some other tight places. I am not sure what it is called in the US but Wurth has it. Its some kind of "putty". Ask a welder/bodyshop and they will know. Underside is treated like the original, primer, SKS stoneguard, body color, black paint.
