    68 Smog Pump?

I am getting ready to embark on my first 911 engine drop and rebuild. The motor is 1968 2.0 with the smog pump. During the rebuild I would like to eliminate the smog pump pulley protruding out of the timing cover. Can someone tell me what will be required to eliminate the smog pump/pulley?
    Thanks in advance.

Just a new cam cover for the left side. I have a bunch of mag ones if you want one, but none in aluminum. You could also just fabricate a block off plate for the hole, similar to what was used when Solex cars were converted to carbs.

If you are getting rid of the smog stuff, let me know as I'd be interested.

Kenik I would think that a mag cover is what he needs or are there also alu chain boxes w/ a smog pump?

I dunno - I was just assuming it was aluminum. Then again, the changeover to magnesium was the end of PY68, so could very well be mag only.

The covers are aluminum on my car. My car has a 9/67 built date 68 911 model. I would prefer to find an aluminum cover to match. Thanks for your interest.

The early ones do come up occasionally here and on Pelican. You might be able to use a later one from an SC or 3.2.
