Yes, there are differences. The European version have a 5W bulb for the parking or driving light towards the center of the car. There is also a devider between this light and the 21W indicator bulb. The bulb for the side light on the US cars is not there.

This is one reason why so many re-imported cars to Europe have changed all the lenses except the front indicators. Replacement housings are expencive and modification of the US one is somewhat complicated.

It could be that the Italian versions are different.

    Hi,

Sigurd has explained the differences, but the replacement ones are not that expensive. I have several sets in stock they cost around £80 each (to the US).

These come with the blanking section between Sigurd describes, but to make to US spec you just remove this, or to make to Euro spec, people either leave as is and run the side light through the headlight RE H4 set up. But it is pretty easier to convert to use a 5W bulb in the original place.

Or you can still buy new, but they are now plastic, from Porsche but they are quite a bit more expensive. These are Porsche ones on a RHD RS in for resto.

I have converted from US to Euro turn signals a few times. The drawing I made is to show the wiring. When you convert you will have a few parts to spare from the US set up.

You will have to make the divider and make a hole through the it for the bulb holder. I make the divider wall my selves, a bit of cutting and hammering. You will notice that if you drill two small holes in the bottom 90 degree bend of the divider, it will fit the two small pegs in the bottom of the housing. Put the divider on the pegs and beat down on the pegs with a hammer and rod. This will secure the divider to the housing. The red line shows how the wire for the possitive side of the parking bulb should run, looks home made, but its the way the euro lights are...

Disregard the text, its about the fuel pump.

And you will need the euro lens as shown above.

    Good luck!
