    Q. re. availability of jack stand (supports)

For the 356 jack points are available that transfer the jacking loads to the strongest parts of the chassis, rear (and front) torsion areas.

Are similar products available for the (SWB) 911/912?

BTW this a product from precision matters, http://www.precisionmatters.biz/jack-points.php
    No affiliation.

    Thanks

Richard. . . . 356 cover is 644 333 151 00 . . . equivalent 901 cover is 901 353 153 00. . . recalling that the 64-65 inner bushing size was the same as 356, I'd be willing to bet that the covers are the same part? Which means you can use that aluminum chingaderra on the new plate? Would be worth trying it to see.

That said, a nice block of wood on the rail does the job nicely, one could even rip a dado down the middle to capture the seam. Other folks use Hockey Pucks.

I bought the ENCO jack stands ( a PRC copy of the AC Hydraulic) with the saddle top, these will fit nicely around the torsion bar tubes in front and rear.

    rear cover

The 911 rear cover houses a longer rubber bushing than the 356 with no ribs. I read that the 911 parts work well on a 356 with long torsion bars with less pounding out of the rubber.
