    Koni shocks..'70S

I am looking for adjustable (adjusting knob on top) Koni shocks for my '70S.

Paragon has a BIG sale on Koni's right now. Model number 86-1638. The web site does not mention the adj. knob.

Has anyone used the Sport Shock on their '70? How was the ride, adjustability, etc.

Ray, You can just call Jason at Paragon and ask. He is very helpful. I run Koni's on my car front and rear. I like the softer compression damping compared to Bilstein. The adjustable rebound is great when you are setting up the car with different torsion bars.

If you want the top adjustable you need.

    Front: 8641 1039Sport

with the top gland nut for the Koni strut

I think the rear sport adjustables are only available for the late trailing arm setup. This means they have a larger lower shock fixing bolt compared to the through-71 trailing arms. I know I have seen a sleeve spacer somewhere to adapt between the two. If you have aluminum trailing arms then you want:

    Rear: 8210 1159Sport

They are going to be firmer even at the lowest setting than your old if your now running old Koni because the sports are gas filled. Mine are on a 66 and maybe valved differently but I likem. Per jpnovak Paragon has the bushings to adapt rears. Adjustabilty easy on front and easy on back ONLY if you shorten the dust cover 'like attached pic' so you can reach the adjustment detent ball with car jacked up and rear at full droop. If you don't it's a remove shock deal a REAL pain.

I have no problem with the theory that all men are created equal.
But after that moment you are on your own and nobody owes you a damn thing.

    Thanks for the info guys!

JP, I did as you suggested, spoke with Paragon, and purchased the 1039 Sports. GREAT price, free shipping. They arrive in a few days.

I only ordered front shocks. My rear is 935 monoball with reverse coil overs.

I will update after the install
