FS - Fiat 131 Abarth Stradale

If you can't afford an RS , don't want a CSL....maybe this. Besides being super neat , no one will have one. And how about the 9K original Kilometers !*** With the age of this car , if wanting to bring it stateside . No DOT/ EPA required. I have no idea what these go for . But comparatively to many cars I know value wise . Actually seems like a bargain to me.

No affliation . I just stumbled upon it. I think this could be a good investment car :

Seems odd that one of the the air intakes is sucking air directly from the exhaust headers.

    Thumbs up

    In about 1968 I got a ride in one of these 1964 1600 850 OT's.......
    Talk about the ultimate sleeper.......

    They raced in 1300, 1600, and 2000.......
Think very light shoe box with a twin cams/twin plugs/duel big Webbers... all hung off the back like a VW.

I had ridden in some pretty fast Minis buy then, but the HP and traction in this thing ripped your lungs out......... couldn't even guess what the 2lt. would be like...

Oh....... and arguably the first 'production' duck tail.......

    PeterM1965,

I would have to guess that air cleaner snorkel has some kind of warm-up regulator flapper at it's base...cutting it off after a certain temp is reached. And all that stuff is ripped off when the intake pieces that were really meant to be there are installed (grp. 4 ... dual webers , or **KugelFischer injection) :

131 Abarth Rally Spec (basic competition spec in 1977 season)

Engine 138 AR 000 Twin cam belt driven, Abarth type 236b
    4 cylinder in line, 1995cc, 10.7:1 compression
    84mm bore x 90mm stroke
16 valve dohc head, 8 valves per cam
    Output 215bhp DIN @ 7000rpm 23 mkg @5600, max revs 8600 (actually 225 - 240 DIN)
Lubrication: rotary pump sump cap. 6.6kg radiator cooled
Coolant: pump, thermostat & electric booster fan cap 7.5li
    **Carburation KugelFischer injection (mechanical trigger).

    World Rally Champion for Manufacturers / 1977 , 1978 , & 1980

(sorry , I do not have a real photo. Only this schematic diagram)

If I see one , I will let you know. An older gentleman I know , who is a long time fiat mechanic...had one many years ago. Unfortunately he let it go (he is unhappy about it today).

I like the photos. I cannot tell who the number 10 car is. But I think the number 4 car is Roberto Cambiaghi - Emanuelle Sanfront.

One of the 131 Abarths was run here in the US at the 1979 20 Stages Rally in Cadillac MI. This was run in May (note snow!). They finished 3rd.

Is there a car Walter Rohrl didn't drive?

Mouton and Pons ran a 131 before the quattro days.

No Mouton-Pons but Mouton-Conconi... Fabrizia Pons arrived after at the time of Audi Quattro.
