    Thumbs up Galpin Ford 'Museum'

Right next to one of the biggest Ford dealerships in the country, and right next to Galpin's G.A.S. (Galpin Auto Sport) sales boutique is a pretty big appointment only showroom of some of there acquisitions....most for sale of course

Galpin Ford used to be a big player in the local SoCal drag scene in the '60's and '70's

I met Ed "Big Daddy" Roth in the early oughts at an AIGA convention in Las Vegas. John Hockenberry was interviewing him, "So those big bulging eyes on Rat Fink represented breasts right?" "Yup." Ed Roth, original member of the Jewish car guy Hall of Fame.

In other news from that convention, some girl I met there took a liking to me and sent me a whole ham! Girl after my own heart, too bad I'm married.

    Chuck...

Have any idea how long Roth's "Mysterion" has been there?

I went to Mecum's auction @ Monterey in 2011 (maybe it was 2010...really don't remember) and I saw this car there up for auction...I understood THAT car was an excellent, accurate recreation of the original "Mysterion", which had evidently been lost/destroyed. I'm just wondering if Galpin recently added this car to their collection...

If this is the original "Mysterion" at Galpin's...then this story of the original car being lost or destroyed would be bogus...

    I'm just curious...

    Cheers
    R/Thom

Interesting collection Chuck, but that purple and pink (Packard?) might have pemanently seared my retinas. The Edelbrock rod is so cool, but I've always thought they should have left it in it's last iteration when it was being used as a daily driver and grocery getter, instead of it's dry lake configuration.
