    Unhappy R.I.P Carroll Shelby

    Carroll Shelby died last night at the age of 89........

    I once heard him say the "Every day I spend on this side of the grass is a good one"

    Happy Trails to one of the all time greats.......

    Great guy I remember having Terlingua Racing team stickers on my corvair as a kid. He truly enjoyed every moment of his life.

    Damn, that's a lot of heavyweights in the last few weeks. Butzi, Tony Lapine and now Shelby.

    He won Le Man for David Brown and Aston Martin -- after proclaiming "Next year, Ferrari's ass is mine!" he won the FIA world championship. He completely redefined what a sports cars could be in the United States.
    It's nearly impossible to overstate how important he was to our hobby. I feel extremely privileged to have driven a couple of the cars he created.

    Carroll was a personal friend of my wife's family. RIP to a great one. We just wrapped up a shoot of our new 66 GT350 2 days ago at Miller.

    ~~~Another GREAT man and a tremendous LEGEND gone; spent 89 years with the world as we know it, and left it after producing some of the most Iconic Sports Cars ever made.
    His competitive spirit and product undoubtedly made the car we admire , collect, and enjoy here on this page.....Porsche, a much better product because of his tenacity in the Motorsport Arena.
    Go in Peace Carroll Shelby and have a GREAT ride in the Hereafter, you have earned your rest and then some.
    Best Regards,
