    Deck lids redux...all over again

    I am in the process of selling my 1970S (tangerine, matching #'s w/factory LSD) and the perspective buyer has expressed concern over the fact that the rear deck is steel. Some of this group may have seen the car this spring at Bretton Woods.
    I have searched this forum and postings reflect that aluminum is correct, and certainly preferred as 'standard issue', with a view askance at steel. Other posts from owners with original paint say theirs are steel and came that way.
    I know it is goofy to ask for a definitive answer...but it may present a tipping point to the sale. Is there rational for straddle on this issue?

    Might be good to include the vin, in case it was a mid-year change. My 69S's was steel
    looking for 1972 911t motor XR584, S/N 6121622

    Thanks Lewis - I would assume Jan/Feb '70 with a vin sequence 1113 of 1744 'S' coupes. No DOM on the COA.
