    Hand Throttle drop link R&R

Hey, has anyone ever R&Red their white plastic Hand Throttle drop link? It's next to the emergency brake in the tunnel. I removed the three bolts for a look see and didn't see how I could swap this out. My existing one is broken and the hand throttle doesn't work to help to give some extra gas with my cold starts. It also doubles as my cruise control.

I bought the replacement piece already.

It is a bit of a PITA. What I did was to loosen the e-brake stops enough to be able to see and then unclip the handbrake lever pin at the rear of this assy (it is clipped to the handbrake cable and must be unclipped and rotated for removal) and then that gave me some room to be able to lift the whole handbrake assy enough to be able to remove the plastic throttle advance piece and replace it. Another challenge may be the heater cable hookups. I found you can adjust the throttle stop once you have it back together with a long stem flat blade scredriver to fine adjust it to your liking. Good luck.

If you haven't already I suggest removing the passenger seat, makes access a hundred times easier.

Helps to have small hands when your trying to get the #%$&@ pin for the handbrake back in place. Loads of fun all around!

Just got done doing this. I removed the driver's seat for access and removed the nuts, stops and friction wafers on both the heat lever and the throttle levers and the knob on the heat lever. Moving both levers off the central thru-bolt will give more maneuverability, as you need to get the rear of the housing up in order to reach under from the rear to get that handbrake lever pin off. Once that's done you can remove the entire housing as the heater lever will pass thru the opening in the housing and remain attached to the heat cable. Good luck!

P.S. As you lift the housing at the rear you should also be able to use a screwdriver to pry the e-brake equalizer forward to gain more room while removing the clip.

Thank you all for your input. PITA sounds about right. And I thought it would be quick and painless.

It is an awkward job, but I found it much easier with the drivers seat removed.
Heres a link to a thread on it.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsc...tle-lever.html
