I see the Pelican thread shows the SWB terminal, the LWB terminal is slightly different.

I just replaced both batteries, + terminals and ground straps in July. Got all the parts from the local Porsche dealer.

I'll take a pic of the LWB terminal and post it later today.

The LWB terminal has provision for two battery cables to be clamped in, the SWB only one.

Thanks, all. Any idea how wide that LWB terminal is?

I'm looking to find a vinyl type cover for the + terminal (I am using an Optima battery).

I've also heard that these clamp-on terminals are not as good electrically as the ones that solder on. True?

You are correct that the original terminals (clamp type) will not have "as good" a connection as a solder-on style. Over time, the clamp-on style will corrode faster than a solder style because it allows air to react with the copper at the connection. But, the clamp-on is a stock connector for LWB as JRBennett noted.

So every couple years you remove the cables wire brush them clean and reinstall. Have you ever tried to solder that large of a cable to a ring connector? You won't do it with the normal small soldering iron. Pep boys have the vinyl rubber protectors to put over the positive cable clamp.
