Thread: Floor panels for a 911 S targa

    Floor panels for a 911 S targa

I'm replacing the floors in a 1967 911 S Targa. The ones that are now in the car are continuously, bead welded, around all outer seams and the tunnel. In my past work with 356s, the floor panels are spot welded in, and so I am wondering if these panels on this car were replaced sometime in the past? The floor welds are very good and do not look like the crappy work that was done on the rest of the car. So I am curious what the factory was doing in 1967, with the floor panel welds?

If it's seam welded, then they have been replaced.

I agee, they were spot welded. They were replaced and someone spent a lot more time to get a more rigid body. Typically for a track car, but pain to replace if needed again.
