    mahle 2.2 cylinders

hi all, i haven't been on here for a long time but needed some good advise from some of the experts out there. I have stripped my 2.2e engine down for a full rebuild to find that all is good other than my cylinders which are worn. my machinist tells me that the pistons are still good, so my issues are do i buy new cylinders (mahle are really expensive as you all know) or do i buy some biral sets from the likes of AA performance or or get a full set of new pistons and cylinders. I have seen mixed feedback from people about aftermarket sets but would like to know if anyone has first hand experience of this. I have also seen full sets on German ebay at VERY low prices but have no history of these. I could even go down the 2nd hand Mahle cylinder route if i could find some??? Any help would be much appreciated.

What I have have just done for my 2.2 T is to buy the 85MM JE pistons from EBS and send them my worn cylinders for rebore to 85 MM. I did have to shim the cylinders 1.5MM to get the compression back to where I wanted.

Thanks for that. I live in the UK and finding a good machinist is difficult. I need something that is retro fit off the shelf.
