    Fuel Pump

I'm about to remove my original electric fuel pump for rebuild as it has gotten very noisy and I don't want it to fail. The car is a '73S. The removal job looks to be pretty straight forward but I thought I would check to see if those who have done it have any advice, tips or cautions.
    Thanks in advance.

Drain the tank if you can before removing. Then have a good clamp and a bolt to stick in the end of the line to the MFI pump. Clamp the lines from the tank if you can't drain it. The fuel will not stop pouring out until the tank is dry otherwise.

I can also add that even though my lines did not visibly drip when clamped (vise grips), I had an empty can below it just in case and after the few days it took to get the newly rebuilt pump there was a lot of fuel in there. So be careful with that. Make sure to have a catch can and pour it off into a proper gasoline container if you go more than a day.
