Radio light on a Blaupunk Frankfurt US?

I am finally installing the radio in my 71 911. Can someone tel me if the radio light should go on when the main switch it's open or when the radio it's turn or booth? Or with the car lights?
    Thank You.

When the radio is on so is the light. Of course the car has to be on as well.

Almost all of the new radios today have separate wires to activate an electric antenna or to wire in to the dash lights so the radio is lit when the dash lights are on. I doubt that the old Blaupunk had these features, but you would find them exiting the back of the radio. Dark blue for electric antenna or to switch on an amplifier, Yellow for main power (always on), red for +12 when ignition is on, and grey with a blue stripe to hook to the dash lights.
I am pretty sure that the light in your radio is only lit when it is turned on, day or night.
Of course, you can either wire the radio so it only goes on when the ignition is on, or to +12 that is always on so you don't need the ignition on to play the radio.
