    E primer or POR15?

What are you guys using for rust prevention of new or rehab'd panels? I have some areas that I can save versus replacement. I was going to neutralize, mechanically remove, then coat. I am leaning to epoxy primer versus POR15. Any long term issues with POR15?

Epoxy! POR15 doesn't like to stick to smooth metal very well.

I'm not a fan of POR15, I know others are.

IMO if you're restoring the car to bare metal, remove the rust, dip or blast then epoxy.

PPG DPLF is what we used

A friend turned me on to Eastwood AfterBlast on bare metal. Works great on either new replacement panels or freshly blasted metal. We then used PPG or other epoxy primer.

Epoxy primer on bare metal. POR is ok for cracks, caverns and joints only IMO.

Edit, or Zero Rust. Seems to stick better than POR to me. Harder to remove when it comes out where not wanted.

Epoxyprimer does not adhere well to smooth metal surface, use etch primer first.
On rough surface, like sandblasted you might skip the etch primer.

I thought self etching primer after blasting as well, untill I read the instructions on the can. States not too be used under body filler. Reason has sliped my mind I will reread the can next time Iam out to the shop. I went with epoxey primer same price, same two part hassel.
