'69 Headliner - Ivory or Black

Hi all-

Apologies if this has been discussed before; I did a search and didn't find much info.

A previous owner treated my early '69 to a fine coating of rattle can black paint inside and out, including the headliner and coat hangers. COA lists black leatherette interior. Should the headliner be black or ivory?

Searches on the site indicate the correct pattern is diamond shape and NOSGRUPPE as a supplier, yes?

Is there a possibility that a black head liner could have been special ordered in '69 or'70 model E's?

FWIW my US spec 69E has a very old looking ivory headliner. Going by the staining my guess is it's original.

Exactly. All this ivory plastic started in 69. If you see black plastic in the pieces we mentioned, they are from a SWB car

Not at all! All the plastic was ivory in Swb cars,too

I guess I am confused, or just plain wrong about the whole topic.

I thought there was a transition to or from black plastics on the headliner bolt ons (visors and/or coat hooks) around the 69 model year. Maybe it was after...?

Anyone have black coat hooks in their early 911?
