    H1 Headlight Help Needed!

Hi all. I hope this isn't a topic that's already bee beaten to death, but I need help with a pair of H1 headlights. I am replacing the trim rings but am completely stuck because the flexible shafts won't come free. In fact, I heated one of them with a torch to try to get it to release from the screw in the trim ring, but only managed to break the screw. Now I can't even just give up and put them back together again. Is there a source for replacement shafts anywhere in the universe? I've attached a picture of the offending part. Please help! Thanks in advance for any advice. Happy Thanksgiving everybody!
