Thread: A question about 1969 911S Fan Shroud

    A question about 1969 911S Fan Shroud

What is the proper color red for the shroud. I understand the original is fiberglass and the color is in the glass itself but over
    time they fade dramatically

    Thanks in advance

So after a lot off research I decided to attempt to bring the original 911S shroud back to original.
We are using the sanding, red dye technique, more to follow

Just curious, has anyone ever gel coated a shroud or is that not feasible? Seems to me it would hold its color and structure much better.

Many years ago I just cleaned up my shroud and gave it a thin coat of clear red lacquer. Turned out pretty well.
I will be interested to see how this comes out. The patched areas are really RED.
